I need to get something off my chest.

Would all of these "inspirational" videos of musicians COMING TOGETHER IN HARMONY through the POWER OF MUSIC do it with something besides BEETHOVEN'S ODE TO FUCKING JOY?!?!??!

I have nothing against Beethoven's 9th, but there is SO MUCH amazing music out there. Recycling the same few "hits" reduces "classical" music to predictable memes. It dumbs things down for the audience instead, of expanding their knowledge and experience.

@voltronic

You’re going to laugh, but, for me, Ode to Joy is synonymous with the Raising of the Stanley Cup Banner 1/20/1995 at Madison Square Garden (delayed by lockout)

It always makes me think of Friedrich Schiller's "An die Freude"

...which is staggeringly uncreative & obvious, as that's what Beethoven (mostly) used for the final movement of the 9th.

IIRC, it's not exactly the same as the poem, though near enough.
