"Forty years ago, the women of Iceland went on strike - they refused to work, cook and look after children for a day. It was a moment that changed the way women were seen in the country and helped put Iceland at the forefront of the fight for equality."

From Cat Cosplay:
Today we found out just how many Googly eyes can you put on a cat before they roll over and play with them all.

UPDATE - We have temporarily replaced the live MSNBC feed with a live CBS feed while we figure out the downstream issue.

Is MSNBC no longer available, or am I missing a way to see all the COSO channels?

Good morning ! I started my day this morning having ResistBot (text RESIST to 50409) send the following message to the President, my Dem Senator and Representative on my behalf:

Creating a safe haven for women in the state of Colorado is not enough. The Supreme Court is clearly not impartial and has become a political tool of the GOP to strip women of their rights to bodily autonomy, privacy, and to make decisions concerning their own health care. (1/2)

don't forget:
this is still just a DRAFT.
we need to get out and PROTEST and PROTEST and PROTEST in numbers so great that at least one of the justices changes their vote. [and roberts dissents too.]
but we've got to do this NOW.
also: call your house reps and senators. be emphatic – it's OK to voice ANGER as long as you're courteous..

For anyone frustrated about the Alito memo on Roe, here are things you can do RIGHT NOW to fight.

1. Contact your House and Senate reps! house.gov/representatives/find
2. senate.gov/senators/senators-c

I know this seems small, but trust me. If a politician sees their phone/e-mail ping non stop, they act.

The next steps are for tomorrow.
3. Canvas your friends and family that you keep on your phone. Make sure they're registered to vote. Tell them they NEED to vote.

Earlier, I saw somebody subtoot, talking crap about another person who was posting about the MET Gala while the news was breaking. Things were moving so fast I didn’t get a chance to reply. That is not cool. People are allowed to post about what brings them joy, even when you and I or anyone is having a meltdown. Don’t be like that here. We do not all have the same experience. Keep that kind of behavior on other platforms.

That is all.

I love the creativity and visual high drama of the fashion of the Met Gala. What a delightful escape to see.

In 2019 I was treated for breast cancer (all good now) and found out I have osteopenia. I get a bone density scan today to see if the meds I’ve been taking are improving things. I sure as hell hope soβ€”side effects have included gaining 40 lbs, so it will be super disappointing if that happened without benefit.

@mmedada so sorry to hear that. I hope they both change their minds. He changed his mind once, he might again 🀞🏼

Tuckers viewers live in fear, paranoia and rage. The right wing curated a cultish way of gaining and keeping people. The worst thing is they can’t even fact check because of how much the right wing tells them not to trust anything else. They are literally told not to believe their ears and eyes, and that Tucker and friends are the only ones looking out for them πŸ™„

Hey y’all β€”

RUS is getting hacked the fuck up. 😎

Free from me to you.

My pinned post will be a painting from my archives titled "The Reality of Madame Gautreau" (the model of Sargent's Madame X).

Her eye roll totally expressed my feelings for Trump & trumpism -- hence my avi.
Things aren't always as they appear.

It’s been almost 2 weeks since discovering this sweet little nest with 5 eggs in it on my front door. Anyone know what kind of bird this is?
