@voltronic I wondered if music artists considered forming a union like the actors guild or writers guild. 🤔
@junbug178
That has existed for a long time in most major US cities, but it's for live performance. Mostly with classical and jazz artists.
@junbug178 VLC and Plex?
@junbug178 YouTube Music has worked perfectly for me for years. $9.99 a month and any album you want. You can also pay $11.99/month and get it with YouTube Premium (no ads on YouTube)
@junbug178 VLC and Plex?
@junbug178 I tried Tidal and it was okay but doesn’t have everything I want. I stuck with Spotify because my music catalogs on there are big!
@junbug178 AndSirius.
@REDonaldAuthor interesting, didn't know that was a thing, just thought it like radio stations.
@junbug178 We got Sirius for our truck, but also have put it on our Roku and an app on the iPad. Can only use it one place at a time is the only restriction. Lots of content.
@junbug178 Correction: seems we can play on the Roku and iPad at the same time.
@junbug178 I use Amazon music for streaming. It sounds good and the catalog is vast.
If you are after high res sound check out Qobuz. They have a free trial. Kind of pricey though.
But If you're all about supporting the artist, Bandcamp is the way to go for purchases. It's arguably better than brick-and-mortar stores if you want as much of your money as possible to go right to the artist. (short of buying merch from them directly, I suppose.)
@Green_Moses I will check it out. Also, need something that can have a family plan.
@junbug178 I THINK the Amazon Music family plan is $15/mo. for up to 6 people if you have Prime. Qobuz is probably more than that, but they do offer a family plan too.
@junbug178
None of them. They all are pretty lousy to the artists. If you're looking for a good music service to support, try Bandcamp.
