Personally, I think all AI's should be switched off. They make me uncomfortable. I was cool with the rise of the PC, got very involved with it, learned many of the basic applications. But now they are trying to make AI an integral part of our basic operating systems (Windows11 uses AI & requires a more powerful PC just to run it, & doesn't allow for opting out of the AI part of it). I don't see where AI is helping anyone, but we are sure letting it rake over.
Big central AI models are doomed to fail economically. It is a bubble, it will burst. But small specialized, decentralized, AI models, will become more and more useful. No they won't make a lot of money, so the development of these will be slow.
@jjGravitas @corlin There are areas where it appears to be useful in science for instance.. I'm just not sure how you double and triple check that it's correct.
I'm nervous about AI myself but I know how humans are and if they have a thing, they use the thing. See atomic bombs, fossil fuels, social media for reference..
