I know. Cold power is a fantasy of mine. Never heard any instances of it being possible. But hey, they've fixed problems before, like:
The hot incandescent light bulb (now we have LEDs),
We've found microorganisms that eat plastic, & are developing biodegradable substitutes for plastic,
The electric car is a viable substitute for the gas powered car, our biggest hangup is in building a national infrastructure for charging them that is as convenient as gas stations ... etc.
@jjGravitas Oh, and I've always thought the real way to do the electric car thing is to have 'battery' swaps like we now have propane tank swaps. Folks could even carry a spare smaller battery that they could lend to someone who ran out of power, have a second battery at home to swap out etc.

I like that idea, I can see it happening.
@jjGravitas I don't think those other things are the same as defying entropy :)
Now, if you're willing to compromise on what cold energy means... that might be doable but unlikely in my lifetime.
