All energy as we know it generates heat. Someone should invent a cold power source, one that does not generate heat. We did a good job with the electric light bulb (the incandescents were frying us until we developed the LED bulb, which can run continuously without being too hot to handle).
@jjGravitas I doubt a cold power source is possible or practical. Even photosynthesis generates heat. LOL But I'm not an engineer.

I know. Cold power is a fantasy of mine. Never heard any instances of it being possible. But hey, they've fixed problems before, like:
The hot incandescent light bulb (now we have LEDs),
We've found microorganisms that eat plastic, & are developing biodegradable substitutes for plastic,
The electric car is a viable substitute for the gas powered car, our biggest hangup is in building a national infrastructure for charging them that is as convenient as gas stations ... etc.
@jjGravitas Oh, and I've always thought the real way to do the electric car thing is to have 'battery' swaps like we now have propane tank swaps. Folks could even carry a spare smaller battery that they could lend to someone who ran out of power, have a second battery at home to swap out etc.
