Oh, Boy.
Neighbor freshmen have come home for the weekend.
And they are messed up emotionally. This was their very first election. Betrayal, shock, and fear are all floating around here like snow in a blizzard. They are talking to mom about their feelings, but don't really want to talk to any of us neighbors.

Man, I am glad I am not a 19 year old .....
I would be so high, and stay so high, for as long as posable.

And I won't blame any young person for doing this. At least in the short term.

@corlin

i'm so upset and sad about their future, all young people, and how they are going to be able to live through these days.

it's appalling, so disturbing 🥺

@holon42 @corlin unfortunately some of them are all for it......they voted for him

@Razdawg22 @corlin

yes, but not those carlin mentions, nor many others.

some though🫨

@holon42 @Razdawg22

I think, but don't know that my neighbor kids are afraid to go back to campus. As so many there voted, and now will be emboldened to say and do great harm.
This is Oregon, so it will still be a minority but a loud minority.

@corlin @holon42 @Razdawg22

I'm in Washington, we definitely have red pockets here (proud boys on the border) but things are very calm here.

If the kids are afraid to go back to campus... could you just make a neighborly (no kids names) to the top person there to check on post election climate... paybacks?

@QueenOfEverything @holon42 @Razdawg22

Both

Oregon University, Eugene, and Western Oregon, Monmouth. Have very good Student support, and are very aware of all this.

They, (my neighbor freshman) will go back. They just have to work through some shit on their own.

@corlin @holon42 @Razdawg22

Freshman... that's a bit intimidating ... first year in college. We all had to work through a lot of shit that year.

Your a good neighbor to pick up vibes from the kids. They might really need a neighbor to talk through some IMPOSSIBLE CRISIS that can occur a dozen times during freshman year.

We thought we had it made as seniors... head of the herd, top of the totem pole... we graduated... then went to get our first job. Back down to lower than freshman!😱 😱 😱

@QueenOfEverything @holon42 @Razdawg22

Well
My neighbor freshman, are very well socially adapted. They were homeschooled their whole life. With a strong community behind them. Took a gap year off to settle down before state college. Most likely far more mature than any other freshman in their class.

Confidently self reliant.
