nope, he builds himself a cozy nest with blankets in his condo❤️
their tails are only prehensile as babies. i think their weight probably is too much at later stages.
@holon42 Opey the opossum was out on the back deck a half hour ago. He was eating the food I put out for the feral cats. He's a fairly large, old looking opossum with a big white snout. He immediately disappears as soon as I open the door.
I swear I’ve seen the same gnarly old possum for years outside. I’ve heard they only live up to 3 years in the wild, but this one has been old and huge for way longer than that.
the average is likely skewed by the number of young that perish by predators, or are orphaned.
sounds like yours is a wily one and has a fairly good food source..
