But it's hard to imagine any appeals court saying "yes, only having 6+ months to prepare for a case - which you already knew was coming for months before that - means you couldn't even hope for a fair trial, case dismissed!"

@holon42 They're already trying it, plainly. But it won't delay the trial. Appeals will consume years, assuming he's convicted.

Frankly, even if he's sentenced to prison (and he definitely could be, given the sheer number of cases), I can easily see him stringing out the appeals for the remainder of his lifespan.
