@Klaatu_Veratta_Nectarine IAEA blue-check birbsite says yes. Lots more at the Zaporizhzhia hashtag, mostly repeating shots of the same purported livecam. #ukraine
@Klaatu_Veratta_Nectarine based on what I am seeing, I would characterize it as a firefight, not a bombing. Russian infantry dismounted. Maybe mortars and/or light artillery. Disposition of the defenders is unclear
@formica there were pictures of a blast a while ago then reports it was on fire.
@Klaatu_Veratta_Nectarine yeah, on one of the videos from the purported live cam, there appears to be a fire on the right side of the screen. There's also a video of a starshell (flare on a parachute to illuminate the battlefield) coming down and what appears to be tracer fire. Hard to tell what could have started the fire, but it appears the lights are still on, so the damage seems minimal-ish. Not enough data, still looking
@formica jeez. This is i think one of the if not the biggest nuclear plant in Europe. Having a fire fight inside it is insane. They need people in there monitoring running it safely not dead.
This is insanity!
@Klaatu_Veratta_Nectarine @formica
Well poop
@Klaatu_Veratta_Nectarine @Thumprhare I believe the bright spot in the still image there on the left is a starshell, not a fire, based on the video I have seen and the smoke it was emitting. The bright spot on the right may be a fire though
@formica @Thumprhare Oh thank you!
@Klaatu_Veratta_Nectarine @Thumprhare @stueytheround yeah assuming the Russian commander isn't a maniac, this probably isn't a nuclear accident situation. Lotta lights gonna go out though if they shut the plant down.
This is a VVER-1000 design, not RBMK (Chernobyl style) legacy Gen 2 reactor. So not as dangerous in that sense, physically. Still a bad place for a firefight
@formica @Klaatu_Veratta_Nectarine
They also have chernobyl
A big giant dirty bomb
@formica crap
