Trump still has his supporters, but the numbers are dwindling. Back in 2016 when a lot of people were enamored at having a "non-politician" as president, he drew in some big crowds. Not as many as he claimed, but still quite a lot of people.

His fan base shrunk in 2020 and since then, even with the people who may or may not be getting paid to attend (like Michael the black man) his numbers are dropping - it's common to see a lot of empty seats at his rallies.

The interesting thing that I've noticed is that if you just look online or on social media, you'd think he's more popular than ever. Facebook pages dedicated to Trump have millions of followers, every story about him gets lots of comments from supporters.

But a lot of them are fake. I don't know if it's bots or if it's some kind of ploy by either the Trump campaign or foreign actors to make it look like he's more popular than he is?

2/

Case in point - the YouTube video of his interview at the NABJ is full of comments, mostly people saying what a great job he did and how hostile Rachel Scott was.

A lot of them used variations of the phrase "The lady in blue" saying she was nasty, rude, disrespectful or unprofessional, with the odd comment like "I'm a democrat but I love the way Trump handled blah blah..." and honestly it looks like a bunch of bots.

3/

And this Elon Musk interview, claiming that he tested with 8 million people but the "DDOS attack" kept most of them from showing up.

So what is it? Is it like Musk who kept all his bots to feed his fragile ego?

Or is it that they know there's a portion of the population who will follow a herd? If they are told that Trump is popular, then they're going to vote for him.

And those same people won't back a loser, because that will also make THEM a loser.

A lot of people (even Dems) didn't like Hillary, and she still got more almost 2.9 million more votes than he did. If it hadn't been for the electoral college, she would have won in 2016.

Biden got over 7 million more. If the enthusiasm for Harris keeps up, Kamala might hit or even smash Obama's 10 million lead.

The idea that his supporters outnumber us is laughable, no matter what kind of trickery they try, or spin they try to put on it.

It doesn't matter how many votes you get. What matters is who counts those votes, and increasingly, who can disenfranchise the most voters.

Please, everyone: go to vote.gov to make sure you aren't a victim of dirty tricks.

It just takes a minute. Do it now, and make everyone you know do the same.
