New people. Listen. If you were an "influencer" on the bird site. If the most important thing for you is to get a large following, for whatever reason. Marketing, or just bragging rights. CoSo might not be right for you. The # of followers you have don’t mean shit here. Never will.
We have a tradition here. It is impolite to ask for followers. Following is a personal decision.

@corlin Yes, the number isn’t important. I also think it’s important that people with similar interests follow each other. The firehouse is much too busy to connect there.
@corlin It's a great point. It also reminds me that once upon a time, it was incredibly rude to do exactly that on Twitter. I remember "Team Followback" swinging through and thinking, "whhhhyyyyy"...
@corlin My suggestion would be that since we are in charge of our experience, let that behaviour influence YOUR decision to mute or block.

@corlin It's a much needed paradigm shift. Collecting followers for the sake of numbers and not caring about and/or responding to content, never made any sense to me. People just shouting into the wind with zero response is the opposite of social.
