There are always ambulances near by. If not directly in the motorcade.

I've seen motorcades before.

Never have I ever seen one containing two (2) ambulances.

And ... for the Vice President's motorcade?

How is this SOP? Why would it be? It's definitely never been a thing before.

I mean. Maybe it is, and I'm just wrong.

But this really doesn't pass the sniff test, imo.

Depends on long distance.
in non-urban areas.

Most of the time they pre-position them along the route.

@corlin @Tarnagh Poppy Bush’s motorcade took a shortcut through our rural area back in the day. An old classmate accidentally followed it while on his sales route. There wasn’t an ambulance with that one.

Please understand, that the SS, often mix things up, change routes, change cars, change the order of operations.

They do not want to be predictable.

What you might have seen yesterday, will not be what you see today.

@Tarnagh @corlin I admit I never paid much attention, parades bore me and motorcades don’t mean a damn thing to me but it does sound rather strange that having two ambulances in the motorcade would be standard OP.

Agree. In DC, pres. motorcade has 1 ambulance. Never seen one in VP motorcade.
