@duglop Actually, I was volunteering at our county animal protective services shelter when they got a call about emus running loose on the highway. They captured them and held onto them until the owner could pick them up. Never a dull moment.

@cassandra17lina I was part of a farm animal rescue back home in WNY - so yeah I get it!!!

@duglop we’d occasionally get pigs when wandered off or were abandoned and in seeking new homes for them, we had to be very careful about placing them because North Carolina loves their barbecue. 😩

@cassandra17lina a little off topic - I was also a volunteer firefighter - 1 night at a HUGE barnfire we were walking past something that had totally burnt up and noticed a charbroild smell to it - it was actually a cow that had been burnt alive - the smell was so sickening even through our SCBA apparatus we were wearing...
