Watched #Formula1 in Monza yesterday and it gave had an idea on how to explain the perils of #ClimateChange to folks who STILL don’t care. Imagine attending a racing event where extreme heat is a problem. “No problem for us,” say the wealthy. “We’ve got nice air conditioned box seats.” Well, guess what: the track is melting, the cars are malfunctioning, and the participants are passing out. Whether you’re seated in cool comfort or sweltering in the stands doesn’t matter. Racing is canceled.
@Wbtphdjd #ClimateChange WILL impact them, it’s just a question of when and how. Money can’t stave it off.
@cassandra17lina The tires would melt from the heat of the asphalt track. Even a cement track would be too hot to run on. If global climate change gets bad enough there will be no races.
@cjcrew True. Some racing is already being done at night but even the fastest cars cannot outrun the reality of climate change.

Affecting planes and runways as well. Air travel will not last in its current state for parts of the world.
