I'm just not yet convinced due to the difficulty in which to put out electric car fires. 20k gallons of water for one Tesla. And then having to isolate the wreckage for fear of rekindle and catching the junkyard.

As an emergency manager, it's hell to plan for.

Agreed, but it is not often a logistical nightmare to put out a standard combustion engine fire.

Your standard Fire Engine carries 1500 Gal Per Min Pump with only 750 Gal Water. If you're lucky enough to be in an area with a hydrant, you're ahead of the game a little, but still going to spend HOURS.

IF not, you're going to need to water shuttle. Time, resources, exposure.

We had a discussion about this a couple of weeks ago on here. Dove as far in as discussed liquid nitrogen dispersal. Looks like it's gonna take a while to perfect.

@M1k3_f @cassandra17lina We test-drove that last year and managed to lock ourselves in while both sitting in the rear seats to check if our son (who is as tall as my husband, who is a head taller than me) would have enough legroom in the back. We laughed like loons in the Aldi parking lot, it was fun to figure out how to get ourselves out of there with the key lying in the compartment under the radio. 😂 Safe driving!

@lovesdaryl @cassandra17lina that’s too funny! I can definitely picture it. The EV’s have so many features and ways to program them. We are still going through it each day and customizing ours for each driver profile. Half the fun is learning the damn thing. 😂😂

Same here! I had everything picked out and was in the process of hiring an electrician to run a dedicated 220 to our garage.

Instead, I have a Toyota Venza hybrid and I am very happy and also relieved I didn’t give a dime to that idiot.
