I went on a great journey tonight: started with watching a person by the initials DJT calling a halt to his Townhall questions, asking staff to play "his" music. Rufus Wainwright's version of Hallelujah comes on. WTF. Segued to MSNBC interview with Rufus, son of Loudon. Ended up searching for my favorite cover of this magnificent song and ended up at the 2010 Olympics in Canada with KD Lang. Now listening to ALL her versions of this song.
I call that a successful road trip.

Just a quiet reminder: After 3 years of vigilance against COVID-19, I was caught flat-footed about 10 days ago while visiting a friend undergoing cancer treatment. I thought what could be safer than two old friends who never go anywhere getting together? Bah! We are both on the other side of the illness now. And, thank science - fully vaccinated and antiviral drugs to the rescue.

I finally did it! Elon told me I had to pay $8 a month to keep my Twit account with 2FA. He can take that idea and shove it. I stopped going there some time ago, but that was really the very last straw. I have pay him to keep my account safe???!!!

So, my main link to Twit madness was a great app Twitterrific. No ads, always kept just the people I was following in my feed. First it could no longer access Twitter on iOS, but that’s okay. Still worked on Mac. Until this morning. No longer authorized!
But all that being said, I come here for the most part and that is fine. I was using Twitterrific to follow those folks who are not on this platform and that I really miss. I WILL NOT use the twitter app itself - deranged, I am not.

The only thing being accomplished in the House this week is showing millions of Americans that our government is NOT serious. At ALL. Well, at least the GOP is not serious EVER. I am dumfounded by this chicanery. Totally ridiculous. If this is what the next 2 years are going to be like, I might have to put my head in a closet so it does not explode.

All these memories of youthful Xmas! I suddenly was reminded that my dad convinced us all that Santa’s sleigh had come and we missed the jingle bells! But Dad said he heard them and then took us out to see the sleigh runner tracks in the snow! I think I still believed him when I was starting high school. So gullible. So happy! Merry Christmas to you all! May your memories be good ones. If not, make some up.

I listened to Maddow's podcast Ultra last night. I am amazed at how much of this is all breaking news to me. Clearly, I was either not paying attention in history class, or they never taught it. Something tells me it is the latter.
MAGA is not our first rodeo with people trying to over throw the US government. Too bad our collective memories were wiped.
