Nice. What processor do you have?
@Jeber It's a Ryzen 9.
@th3j35t3r
That’s a great one. Liquid cooled, I presume. Are you into the RGB stuff?
@Jeber Nope and nope. 😜 - It's also got dual GPU's - an AMD Radeon and an Nvidia 3080 - in a laptop!
@Jeber PS and also dual NVMe's - each of them 1TB 👍
@th3j35t3r @Jeber
C’mon Boss. Where are those dual WD Black 4TB cards!!! 😊
@Jeber @th3j35t3r @InvaderGzim
No one could understand it. People can't memorize computer industry acronyms.
@th3j35t3r @b4cks4w @InvaderGzim
Oh man, all those ancient connections and their fussy connectors. We have come a long way.
@th3j35t3r @b4cks4w @Jeber @InvaderGzim
As an old CPQ guy, I gotta toss in "EISA"
I tend to buy machines one cycle back, easier on the budget and compatibility issues get sorted. Mine's got Ryzen 7 and Nvidia GeForce rtx 4060, dual boots Ubuntu or Win 11
@BrentSullivan @th3j35t3r @b4cks4w @Jeber @InvaderGzim
Yep, I buy one generation back myself, and have for 25 years. One generation back, and top of the line workstations only. Never had a problem... yet.
@th3j35t3r @b4cks4w @Jeber
How ELSE would you say it??
Ess cee ess eye??? 👀👀👀
@th3j35t3r Ha! In cleaning frenzy yesterday I finally let go of a could high end (in their time) SCSI controllers and a small box of drives ranging from 100 to 300 megs. It still pained me to get rid of them.
@SimplyZippy @th3j35t3r @b4cks4w @InvaderGzim
You could almost donate them to a museum.
@b4cks4w @Jeber @th3j35t3r @InvaderGzim
Well played
@b4cks4w @Jeber @InvaderGzim
Here's one for ya... SCSI.
