I tend to always have the same apps and processes running all the time on my personal laptop. When I was on Windows with the same apps and processes running the RAM and CPU usage would have been double what it is on this new Linux install:

As an old CPQ guy, I gotta toss in "EISA"

I tend to buy machines one cycle back, easier on the budget and compatibility issues get sorted. Mine's got Ryzen 7 and Nvidia GeForce rtx 4060, dual boots Ubuntu or Win 11

Yep, I buy one generation back myself, and have for 25 years. One generation back, and top of the line workstations only. Never had a problem... yet.
