Just a thought for your vet who I'm sure is ace: Am familiar with this scenario and seen it greatly improved after the eustachian tube openings into the throat were (radically) opened due to circumstances. Of course irrelevant if there's scar tissue in the inner ear. Anyway, hope his scent life is now 200% more interesting

The vet said it could be temporary; time will tell. Jack is a rescue, and is about 12, so age can be a factor.
He is more sniffy now, and has become my shadow. His sleep is sound, which is a change.
He is also taking clues from our Lab Lucy so he's not missing out on dinner or treats.
