This is such a clear violation of the first amendment. In fact, there was a case in the '80s that specifically ruled that the government can't remove books from libraries for political reasons.

Wonder if our current SCOTUS would uphold that.

@tyghebright @sfleetucker I don't know, is there a historical tradition deeply steeped in America's history and values or whatever of explicitly and specifically "preventing the banning of LGBTQ+ books"?

Arbitrary book bans can go any direction. It will be pointed out (again) to these dimmest of bulbs.
It's usually pretty easy to get onto the local public library Board. If one is so inclined.
