Sadly I lost part of my stick blender, so I can no longer blend any sticks.
This rules out the Garam Masala Carrot Soup™ I like to make. Perfect side for pulled pork.
Also no creamy potato leek, or loaded potato soup for that matter. Sad panda!
Been wanting to create a soup that captures the essence of the American Midwest- beer, cheese, bratwurst, maybe some sauerkraut for texture and mustard seeds...
@aspecurian Oh, hope it turns up soon!
You don’t think it ran away with the bat cookie cutter?!!😳
@KarenSohne It has been gone for years. Should really either replace it or fix it.
@aspecurian l was making butternut squash soup ( with leeks, chicken and cilantro) and there were a few panicked moments before l was able to locate the “sharp part” of the stick blender
@KarenSohne That sounds so good!
@KarenSohne Wow, that is not like anything I have ever tried.
@KarenSohne I think I might have to give that a shot.
Ever try fresh lemon juice in a bog standard chicken soup? Crazy good.
@aspecurian Never tried that, l love my chicken soup, maybe l’ll try that next time
@KarenSohne Lemon and fresh cracked black pepper.
@aspecurian @KarenSohne I also use fresh ginger.
@misslovelymess @aspecurian Sometimes l do too! I need more greens, so l’ll get some ginger too, thanks for the reminder!
@KarenSohne @misslovelymess Fresh ginger is something I never experienced until my mid to late 20's.
If I had it in chicken soup I probably would have freaked out.
@aspecurian @misslovelymess l love ginger in food. I’ve not put it in the chicken soup, but have grated it into squash soup
@KarenSohne @aspecurian I microplane it into chicken soup, and other soups and dishes. It’s one of my favorite ingredients.
@misslovelymess @aspecurian
What’s a microplane?
@misslovelymess @aspecurian thanks!
@misslovelymess @KarenSohne I love these. Great for nutmeg.
@KarenSohne @misslovelymess Getting to be the time of year I used to set by a store of ginger infused vodka. I really don't find that I have much appetite for drink these days but that stuff was great for the occasional holiday cocktail.
@aspecurian @KarenSohne @misslovelymess I need to remember that. My older ginger plant might be ready for small harvests soon.
@aspecurian when we were besieged with boxes of pears from my father in laws trees, my husband would make pear compote, a slightly runny pear sauce, slightly sweet with lots of cinnamon and sometimes ginger. That stuff was amazing in squash soup and heaven on pancakes!
@aspecurian surprise yerself!
