On Liz Cheney:
It's disturbing how many Dems think Liz's battle with Trump is over ideals and not intensely, malignantly personal.
Her battle IS PERSONAL. It is not ideal. She just happens to be completely right this time.
So no. Stop. Stop mentioning her. Stop idealizing her. Stop giving ANY of these misogynists a free platform.
She will absolutely turn right around and endanger or kill people with "pro-life" laws.
@artisanrox Exactly. She did NOT become a democrat, liberal, progressive and she is absolutely not our ally on any other subject other than January 6th.
She still has the same mainstream GOP views that were abhorrent and anti-humanity before Trump. She's just quieter and more civil about them.
@hunkthunderzone And Rubin's screen name has PRO PRIVACY in it
I want to smash my palm right THROUGH my face.
@artisanrox Liz Cheney voted against voting rights. That's really all you need to know about her.
There's old guard Republican, who prefer to use the rule of law to oppress, and new guard Republican, who prefer more drastic measures.
She voted against voting rights. I will never ever forget that.
Yeah, I mean, we can never forget all the OTHER stuff that's SO WRONG with her. But, sometimes, in an emergency, being right about one REALLY IMPORTANT THING still matters. That's where we're at.
I'll use what she's saying and doing where it benefits us. That's it.
@CLManussier @artisanrox Sure. But Speaker? Absolutely the fuck not.
@CLManussier @CheekyGinger IMHO the two problems are that her party will never put her as Speaker, and if they did have some sort of weird come-to-Jezus moment, that's literally all where she benefitted us.
Like, literally, it. Being a normal American citizen that should be against authoritarian declarations of power and pro-voting is what she did.
I mean, she did her job. Out of entirely personal reasons, not ideology.
@artisanrox Jennifer Rubin was hired as a conservative Republican voice. She's Liz with a WaPo column.
@Cosmichomicide Makes sense. I'd choose Adam Kinsinger for Speaker, but I'll never cheer for them like this...and still don't want ANY OF THEM in line for the Presidency.
Like none.
Zero.
@artisanrox Someone like Brian Fitzpatrick would be a good choice, but I don't think the current GOP is capable of a good choice.
@artisanrox She also believes in torture as a valid interrogation technique.
