@raspberrypanda

What if we put YOU on an island, say, and all the Icky Stuff could be elsewhere? 😹

@amarand

🤔 an island you say?
With white sand beaches?
Sunshine?
Coffee???

Sold!

“S’mores aren’t traditionally a New Zealand treat, but the concept of roasting marshmallows over a campfire is certainly enjoyed here, especially during camping trips or beach bonfires. While s’mores aren’t as common, Kiwis love their sweets, and you might find variations or similar treats at some gatherings. If you’re craving s’mores in New Zealand, you’ll likely be able to find the ingredients and introduce this tasty tradition to your Kiwi friends!” Ambassador GPT

@raspberrypanda

“S’mores aren’t as popular in New Zealand because they’re a North American tradition, tied to U.S. and Canadian camping culture. While Kiwis love camping and bonfires, our desserts lean more towards British influences like pavlova and ANZAC biscuits. Plus, graham crackers, key to s’mores, aren’t as common here.”

“New Zealand has beautiful white sand beaches, especially in the North Island. Spots like the Coromandel Peninsula, Bay of Islands, and far north are famous for their pristine shores. While not every beach has white sand, New Zealand’s coastlines offer a diverse mix, from rugged shores to golden sands, ensuring a perfect beach for everyone.”

@raspberrypanda

I think it’s too far away flight-wise but it would be a fantastic place to visit if they could improve transport speeds. 😹

@amarand @raspberrypanda

I'm trying to imagine smores made with Anzac biscuits and feeling slightly offended.

Good thing NZ is imaginary

@raspberrypanda

“New Zealand's beaches, coffee culture, and outdoor adventures make it a perfect getaway destination for everyone*.”

*Almost

@amarand

* except people who don't coffee, tramp or beach. 🤣

@raspberrypanda @Kurtroedeger

I know! 😹 Or maybe keep it off the map so certain people can’t find it?

@amarand @raspberrypanda

It's pretend anyway. I just gotta pretend I'm there. 🤷‍♂️

@amarand yeah, he does look sad. He needs a hug (or maybe a snack or something) =/ @raspberrypanda

@amarand @Christmas_Snow

If there's justice in this world, that's the closest he'll ever get to the Imaginary Upside Down. 😝

@amarand Oh! I just saw the picture and didn't read the thread. I guess finding that would make him happy if that's what he's searching for! 🤭 Hi Pandy!! @raspberrypanda

@raspberrypanda Well, i didn't win the lottery last night, so 😕 but that means the jackpot is bigger now so that's good (i guess?). Also, i got some of the ghost pics i saved printed out and am now trying to place them on my canvases and make them fit in a way that gets the most on there. Taking a break at the moment. @amarand

@Christmas_Snow @raspberrypanda

Ooh! Maybe winning the lottery would allow private jet flight to NZ and that would be much more pleasant!

@amarand @raspberrypanda The next is 27 million. I think i could spare some money to fund that trip!

@amarand oh dear... I have a feeling Miss @raspberrypanda would like a non-traditional s'more. What about a chocolate wafer with an After Eight chocolate thin mint, topped with roasted marshmallow, Pandy? I can personally vouch that those are VERY yummy, and not as sweet as the other ones (think it's the addition of the mint, plus the choc wafers aren't as sweet).

@Christmas_Snow @amarand

Not to spoil a good thing, but the Pythons kinda messed with the whole wafer thin after dinner mint with Mr Creosote. Can't quite look at them the same way after that. 😆

😬 :facepalm: 😱

@raspberrypanda @Christmas_Snow

Ha! Me neither. Thought the same thing. “Wafer thin.” 🤢🤢🤢🤮

Well, and you know the history of graham crackers right…?

@amarand @raspberrypanda

Yes, which makes their use in a decadent smore glorious and more delicious. Same for using them as a cheesecake crust.

@amarand @raspberrypanda

Pastor Graham: yes, I have perfected my biscuit completely devoid of any pleasurable flavors!!!! It is the epitome of bleh.

Me: yeahhhh. About that.

I don't think mr graham and I would get along too well.

@Kurtroedeger @raspberrypanda

Create the perfect New Zealand s'more with Griffin’s Digestive Biscuits, Whittaker’s Milk Chocolate, and a toasted marshmallow. Break a digestive biscuit in half, place a piece of Whittaker’s Milk Chocolate on one half, and top it with a golden, gooey marshmallow toasted over a campfire. Press gently with the other half of the biscuit to melt the chocolate slightly, and enjoy your delicious Kiwi-inspired treat!

@raspberrypanda @amarand if it increases the s'mores presence in NZ i will accept this

@amarand

Err, pavlova isn't a British dessert. :facepalm:

We fight with our Aussie cousins over who invented it.
Ditto with the ANZAC bikkies. 🤣

@raspberrypanda The British version was invented in the kitchens of a private school when the chef dropped a pavlova and essentially said "fuckit" and threw the lot into a bowl. Thus was born the dessert known as Eton Mess. @amarand
