Congrats to SpaceX and their team. Starship IFT 5 was utterly jaw dropping.

Except for the part at the end where the ship crashed.
So it is a partial win.
Looked like a soft water landing to me, on target, followed by a RUD, which was good enough. They never planned to recover Starship. Even if it landed perfectly with no RUD, it was still sinking.

A lot of my objections have to do with engineering philosophy and the term you used RUD.
People tend to ignore the U in that acronym and I prefer to take it literally.

Yep. But an intact Starship isn’t (wasn’t) the goal for this flight.
