A lot of my objections have to do with engineering philosophy and the term you used RUD.
People tend to ignore the U in that acronym and I prefer to take it literally.

Looked like a soft water landing to me, on target, followed by a RUD, which was good enough. They never planned to recover Starship. Even if it landed perfectly with no RUD, it was still sinking.
