The interview begins. 22 minutes long, "no cuts, no edits."

Begins with the above clip.

The interview was held at Sherman Middle School in Madison, Wisconsin.

"I just had a bad night. I don't know why." Notes he did ten public events after the debate without incident.

Stephanopoulos reads reports from NYT, WSJ, WaPo reporting his decline. Biden replies by listing his accomplishments. Notes the annoouncement today that 200,000 jobs were added last month. Touts taking on Big Pharma. Lists his goals for his second term.

Stephanopoulos asks again if he's had more lapses in the last six months. If he's frail. Biden keeps telling him it's not true. Says his doctor told him after the debate that he was exhausted.

"Have you had a full neurological and cognitive evaluation?"

Biden lists all the tests he's had.

"No one said I had to, I'm good."

Biden notes he runs the most important country in the world. Every day, he's making critical decisions.

Stephanopoulos asks if he's willing to have an independent examination. Biden says, "I've already done it."

(Biden's voice is a bit hoarse. Perhaps this is after the Madison rally.)

Stephanopoulos asks how he can convince people he will be capable for his second term. Biden lists yet again all his accomplishments, including international relations.

"Do you have the mental and physical capacity to do this for another four years?"

"I wouldn't be running if I didn't think I could."

Biden notes the recent immunity ruling. He replies that "the character of the President" will decide the consequences of that ruling.

"If I stopped now, I'd go down in history as a pretty good president."

Stephanopoulos says "you're falling further behind." Biden replies that polling isn't as reliable as it used to be, which Stephanopoulos acknowledges, but notes polls in battleground states. "I carried a lot of Democrats the last time I ran in 2020." Also recalls the so-called "red wave" in 2022 that never materialized.

Stephanopoulos asks if it will be harder to run against this time.

"Not when you're running against a pathological liar."

Biden says the "discontent" is coming from the press, not Democrats. Says that Schumer, Jeffries, Pelosi support him; they talk all the time, they've never expressed any concern.

Stephanopoulos keeps throwing hypotheticals at him; Biden finally has enough and says "I'm not going to answer that."

Stephanopoulos concludes by saying they also offered an interview to . He declined.

Pundit now pontificating that the interview did not calm anyone and raised new concerns. I'm done with this.

Overall, I thought Biden did a solid job. Stephanopoulos did all he could to trip him up, but he didn't.

Biden kept coming back to his accomplishments and his intimate friendships with world leaders. Trump doesn't have that.

Stephanopoulos kept coming back to, "You're old." Biden kept coming back to his track record, what he stands for, and what Trump represents. That's it in a nutshell.

It appears that just released the entire interview on their YouTube channel. Give this link a try.

@WordsmithFL The goddam media "politics in crisis", what's with that shit, other than put him and other dems into a defense made. They know exactly what they're doing, framing the conversation.

@WordsmithFL Yeah, the "liberal" media owned by millionaires....

@Boyceaz The interview is pre-recorded. Some of it will air on "World News Tonight" as a promo.

@Boyceaz @WordsmithFL

I thought Biden was curtailing appearances after 8 pm.

This is what wore him out before the debate. A full day of campaigning is EXHAUSTING no matter what age you are.

Yes, he needs to show he's up to the job... but it's better to make QUALITY appearances instead of quantity. imho

@QueenOfEverything It's pre-recorded. Parts of it will air on "World News Tonight." The entire telecast starts at 8 PM EDT. The interview itself was earlier today.

@Boyceaz

@WordsmithFL @QueenOfEverything Ah. I'm concerned then that it won't answer capability questions for the naysayers. I'm sure George will voice his impression and minimize the editing but still.

@WordsmithFL Is Stephanopolous a Republican cheerleader or something? Maybe he thinks his loaded questions are "hard hitting" journalism.

@BillieBun It's repetitive, but I think Stephanopoulos is doing him a favor by leaning on him. So far, he hasn't fumbled once, no matter how many times he repeats the same question a different way.

@WordsmithFL

Thanks for posting this but the interview is not going to convince swing voters.

@MarceloPaezPereda Do you really think "swing voters" are going to vote for a rapist fraudster felon who's also old instead of the decent candidate with an excellent track record because the latter is also old?

The media are being hypocritical. We don't hear any of them calling for Trump to drop out. Side by side, there's no comparison.

If voters choose the felon, then we deserve what we get. Which is a sad comment on this nation.

@WordsmithFL

No, I don't think and I never said that swing voters are going to vote for Trump. For a huge number of voters the choice is not Biden or Trump but Biden or staying at home. The media is just pointing out that the number of voters that are still going to vote for Biden is not enough to win the election,. It doesn't matter if you or I agree with their motivations.

@WordsmithFL
After looking at this video, check out Murdoch's Sinclair Rightwing dumbcluck requirements for their owned local stations. Sinclair sponsored this garbage pit of a hit piece. youtu.be/_fHfgU8oMSo

@MrsHowelsEyebrows I think that was the point. Biden didn't lose his cool. He showed patience. He pushed back, gently, a couple times.

Biden was demonstrating he's the better choice in comparison to . Mission accomplished.

@WordsmithFL where the fuck was George when Moscow Mitch repeatedly visited the hereafter for a minute or two? Fuck that guy.

@MookyTroubadour I doubt McConnell would have agreed to a similar interview. They just told us didn't. At least got in the arena. The others are cowards.

@WordsmithFL Unless he says "I've decided to be a dictator" or "I've decided to be a coward and not run" there's not a lot of things I can think of that he would say that would change my vote.

I hope he manages to convince people who, for some reason, think whether he looks energetic at night is more important than Trump being a monster who wants to be a dictator and kill us.
