I should think the finale of The Last Of Us has put to rest the rampant admiration and downright fanboyism being thrown at the main protagonist as the “King of good guys”.

His motives are selfish and methods inhumane. A grade A nihilistic anti-hero that should evoke no sympathy in anybody decent and sane.
