True. There were several follow-up questions on the Bird Site about heavy vs. light gas, upstairs bedrooms with downstairs kitchens and furnaces, and high-capacity vent hoods over the gas stove. But ventilation deserves a whole lot more attention in living and working spaces (schools too) than it has gotten in the past.

He did not address ventilation.
Fresh air circulation will take care of most of this. Even in winter, have good filters, and push as much fresh air as you can. Just leaving a window open above a gas stove, helps a lot.
