@TybeeMedia

my first reaction was - there's a system?!?!?!

but nice to see they are doing something to mitigate.

Mariposa County had a bad fire season this summer. At one point the people who had refused to evacuate the started calling 911 for help, but they couldn't be helped! It was too late.
😳

@peeppeepcircus The situation there is hard to imagine. Seeing reports of parts of CA receiving 200 - 400% more rain than normal.

@TybeeMedia

yes, i've had to shelter in place because what little infrastructure there is around me took a beating. roads closed, then partially repaired after flooding and damages but with no guarantees because it wasn't the repair that was needed. water drainages around me are gushing and doing their jobs though.

the annual grasses that were supposed to come up in Oct/Nov in my area but didn't because of the megadrought dryness are just starting to come up.

@peeppeepcircus We understand the need for temporary repairs esp. to help emergency and 1st responders move quickly but probably additional hidden infrastructure damage that can't be fully evaluated until these storms are over. Hopefully the grasses will help stabilize the top soil.
Stay safe out there!

@TybeeMedia

(so... fwiw i do have a pet peeve about anyone telling me to "stay safe" especially since the climate kicked into another gear and extreme things keep happening all around me)
