Given how difficult it is to remove, I have to assume the cover to my bathroom exhaust fan is actually sealing away a demon and/or portal to hell.

@TheCard

5 years of home renovations has taught me this - if it won't cooperate, take a hammer to it and replace it. You'll feel better, and the other fans will fear you and behave better.

@Agatha LOL! If I didn't rent, I would absolutely act on this advice!

@Agatha Indeed! I just wish I weren't too embarrassed to ask my landlord.

@TheCard

Are you embarrassed about having to ask at all, or did you do something to it?

I've found Google and YouTube really are amazingly helpful with the diy.

@TheCard

But if you want to post a pic, I can see if I'm familiar with that kind. I've a bit of experience with them, unfortunately. πŸ˜‚

@Agatha Thanks so much! If I phone weren't dead, I'd do just that.

@TheCard

No worries. If you don't figure it out and still need help later, shoot me a message. Typically there is just a metal wire pressure latch - just need to pull down hard enough. Good luck!

@Agatha I really appreciate it! I've never seen one quite like it, and the cover seems to be connected to a light fixture, so it's very confusing.

Thanks again!
