Given how difficult it is to remove, I have to assume the cover to my bathroom exhaust fan is actually sealing away a demon and/or portal to hell.
@Agatha LOL! If I didn't rent, I would absolutely act on this advice!
Oh hell even better. That's SEP (someone else's problem). Congrats!
@Agatha Indeed! I just wish I weren't too embarrassed to ask my landlord.
Are you embarrassed about having to ask at all, or did you do something to it?
I've found Google and YouTube really are amazingly helpful with the diy.
But if you want to post a pic, I can see if I'm familiar with that kind. I've a bit of experience with them, unfortunately. π
@Agatha Thanks so much! If I phone weren't dead, I'd do just that.
No worries. If you don't figure it out and still need help later, shoot me a message. Typically there is just a metal wire pressure latch - just need to pull down hard enough. Good luck!
@Agatha I really appreciate it! I've never seen one quite like it, and the cover seems to be connected to a light fixture, so it's very confusing.
Thanks again!
@Agatha I'm kind of afraid of being admonished for never cleaning the exhaust fan, even though I'm not sure if that's even my responsibility as a tenant.
Oof yeah, tenant agreements can get weird. We rented for a long time. I usually DIY'd just because I'm not peoply enough to want anyone in my home. π
... as he finally worked the first screw loose he heard a bell toll, as if from a great distance. Perhaps, he contended, a couple were being joined in matrimony or someone was being laid to rest...
@TheCard
5 years of home renovations has taught me this - if it won't cooperate, take a hammer to it and replace it. You'll feel better, and the other fans will fear you and behave better.
