Given how difficult it is to remove, I have to assume the cover to my bathroom exhaust fan is actually sealing away a demon and/or portal to hell.
5 years of home renovations has taught me this - if it won't cooperate, take a hammer to it and replace it. You'll feel better, and the other fans will fear you and behave better.
@Agatha Indeed! I just wish I weren't too embarrassed to ask my landlord.
Are you embarrassed about having to ask at all, or did you do something to it?
I've found Google and YouTube really are amazingly helpful with the diy.
But if you want to post a pic, I can see if I'm familiar with that kind. I've a bit of experience with them, unfortunately. π

Oof yeah, tenant agreements can get weird. We rented for a long time. I usually DIY'd just because I'm not peoply enough to want anyone in my home. π
