I've read a lot of analysis of how the Democrats lost, and a big part that is still not mentioned enough is our media ecosystem. Even when it is mentioned, it's not enough.
We have a commercialized, billionaire-owned media ecosystem that attracted many a syncophant. That is a huge battle and requires everyone engaged.
@feloneouscat also we are not in a state to deal with more chaos - climate included. Florida got hit with 3 hurricanes. Bird flu is percolating. There's global stability issues.
If anything goes truly off the rails the news IS NOT READY TO HELP.

When you have opinions being pushed as news (“What Trump Will Do In His Second Term”) the fourth wall has failed.
We had stories that invented things by massaging his nonsense—sane washing—and fed the easily duped a line of horseshit that gave the country a sense of “both sides are the same, just one is overly socialist”.
A complicit media gave us the Spanish American war—yellow journalism printed fabrication upon fabrication of non-existent atrocities.
