BTW I will give Clooney credit for one thing, he noted Biden stepping aside might be like what we saw in france, consolodiation. I get that.
But he put the Burden on one person. It should have been "we all have to come together, and I'm sure Biden and everyone else will make the right choice."
@sirgeefive @StevenSavage Nor have they analyzed FEC guidelines, office and staffer transfers, getting a new slate on the ballot in all 50 states, GOP lawsuit plans over changes, and fundraising account transitions. Just promoting chaos.
@sirgeefive Oh *I* wouldn't replace Biden.
But I'm saying I think people can call for it in a non-destructive way.
@StevenSavage I have this theory that the people calling for Biden to step down are doing so because they realize that Trump has no chance of winning an election unless the other candidate drops out.
@sirgeefive I have a similar theory. A poker dealer I follow with a good sense of odds. He wonders if Trump can really make it to election without a major health/mental issue.
Secondly, I think you have a point. This is a repeat of last election, where Biden stayed calm and won. And Trump hit his ceiling while Biden hit the floor.
Third, I think R's desperately worry they'll have to swap out Trump. Note the VP battles.
@StevenSavage Out of curiosity, who exactly would you replace him with if he were to drop out? No other Democrat appears to be running for president at the moment. Seems to me that all these very rich folks asking for him to drop out have presented no alternative.
