Did the Egyptians worship the sun originally and thought cats were awesome for doing so too?
Or did they see cats worshiping the sun and were like "bet"?
@Smersh Probably a "bet" situation, or maybe even a "based" situation given they regarded the sun the eye of their primary god, Ra. But the god Bastet is one they also worshipped so maybe they saw the cats sunbathing as a god trying to reconnect with their father?
@Smersh All I can do is speculate however, I'm no kemetic, but I do have friends that worship the Egyptian gods and could ask them for clarification?

I didn't realize folks still did but I guess it's not that out there with folks bringing back the Nordic gods as well.
@Smersh Yep, there's actually quite a following for kemetic practices as well as the heathen practices. It's somewhat tainted with nazi influence in some groups but we're fighting to cut them out and out the racists and hate speakers among us for what they are: Nazi's.
