Here's what happens on even what is supposed to be the Safe place on the internet.
A white man calls you dear and offers his services as a therapist because you dared to expound on why Black women said they don't feel safe here.
It isn't surprising.
It's new, though!
Goddamn you fucks.
#ImMe
@Shelter It's such a pervasive attitude, and honestly it's entitled AF of them.
It's expected.
@Shelter I just found that exchange and it induced such a cringe my organs may have migrated to behind my spine. I've blocked that person, because what the actual fuck was that??? I can't decide if he's a trolling douche or genuinely that self-absorbed, racist, and clueless to genuinely not see what you're upset about :/ Either way, yikes and blocked.
@Shelter No, that was creepy, like they're from another planet or something. Like, 1950s level dismissive of a woman's anger.
It was really fucking weird and I didn't like it.
@Nimthiriel
And people insist on trying to explain to me why my thoughts are disturbing to everyone else.
I don't care.
They should be.
@Shelter I agree with you and your thoughts 100%. If something makes them uncomfortable, they should sit with that discomfort and examine why they feel that way before reacting. Unfortunately, that kind of emotional awareness is very rarely taught.
Human beings are exhausting.
