If anyone is wondering how anyone could have possibly not gotten Covid yet I can tell you.
My husband works from home anyway.
My kids were moved to permanent, online school.
And the adults only go everywhere masked.

@Shelter

The idea of 'personal sacrifice' is really fkn wonky with some folks.

Thanks for being responsible members of your communities. 💜

@Shelter Well done, its a challenge.

Its fully possible. We are a covid free household.

Haven't seen my folks or sibs since a quick visit '21 when spread was down below 5%, covid tests were used, and it was outdoors even then. Can't risk it. Won't travel or gather.

online shopping and home delivery because thankfully we can.

Its rough for the extended family. They don't really understand, or most likely, don't want to.

@Shelter yep!! my mom works directly with covid patients but hasn’t caught it because everyone masks and she still has to get into basically a hazmat suit.

I’m always masked when I go to work and test when I feel bad and every week regardless. I change clothes as soon as I get home and just make sure to just do the best I can.

it’s scary but it can be done. when people are like “oh you probably had it and didn’t realise.” nah, it would kill me. ✌️

@Shelter I haven't had Covid either. I am fully vaccinated and now mask only when I fly. I live my life normally with some precautions. I have been directly exposed several times and still never got Covid, despite others around me getting ill.

@Pinky_Slivovitz
And also you didn't understand the part where masking prevents spread to other people considering that people can carry and not have symptoms.

@Shelter I'm aware, yet I also test regularly. I was very careful with masking the first year and still continue to mask under certain circumstances. I will continue to get every booster available and don't do large gatherings, but Covid is here to stay. Precautions are necessary but I'm not going to live the rest of my life in isolation.

@Pinky_Slivovitz
You're very lucky.
It will kill me.
I'm not exaggerating.
I have to stay home.
That's ableism.

@Pinky_Slivovitz

You said that you only mask on flights.
Most disabled people aren't on flights.
They're having to go into stores.
They're having to go into the waiting room and exam room in doctor's offices.
I don't understand how you're protecting people.

@Pinky_Slivovitz @Shelter

not sure how wearing a mask in public to safeguard others is living in isolation but whatever

@Shelter @Pinky_Slivovitz it reduces spread. Not to be nit picky but folks thinking masks are like force fields is also a problem.

@Shelter I've been exposed so many times, I doubt luck plays a part anymore. My own doctor believes I'm likely one of the ones who appear to have some immunity to it.

@Pinky_Slivovitz
And yet you still might carry it.
I am immune to strep.
But I'm a carrier.

@Shelter I haven’t had it either but I also haven’t been anywhere but essential medical appointments in three years with no end in sight. I miss grocery shopping and that’s something I never thought I’d ever say 3 1/2 years ago. Staying away from it is possible, too many people are just apathetic about it.

@MilaPhoenix
God I hate grocery shopping anyway, but I have to go 8n for the cold stuff because my store is full of dingdongs.
So I just shop. Quickly.
