There's legitimate talk of dumping Vance as his running mate π
There's playing the political game, and then there's being gamed by the politics, and then there's being so far up the ass of the political data you have no clue what's actually happening any more beyond what the charts say.
Which one do think Orangeito Bandito is?
@SentinelOfTruth he can't, he's already picked him as he officially accepted the nomination at the RNC, it's a lock. That why Biden waited for the RNC to be over before refusing the nomination. Biden literally set a trap and sure enough, trump jumped right in with both feet. Biden was legally allowed to drop his bid and endorse Kamala, but trump is stuck.
@Liliki You are under the assumption the GOP abide by any rules. They'll bend and break any and every one possible to attain the result they want.
Lawlessness, this is their platform and has been for a very long time; it's just more pronounced now.
TBF, in theory the RNC could dump Trump without justification.
It canβt because of its eggs are in the Trump
Basket.
Dumping Vance is a risk this late in the game.
β’ It makes Trump look indecisive
β’ It gives Harris MORE ammo not less
β’ Trump will have to pick ANOTHER running mate
The last is most important. If Vance went through a vetting process, itβs a shitty process. Another candidate could be just as lousy.
@feloneouscat There's one tiny problem with this line of logic though: his voters do not generally use logic in their votes or decisions.
They'll tell them a bunch of nonsense and they'll just bob their heads and accept whatever they are told. The only people this MAY hurt him with, is with independents and even then I'm stretching for a reason.
Partner said the same.
Thatβs not the issue.
No party can win with the hardcore. Not Democrats nor Republicans.
They depend on the Independents to tiebreak.
They are the ones that actually win elections. And they are a little more circumspect than you give credit.
Trump is a risk. People were hurt under Trump. The economy did not expand and his alt-history isnβt helping.
His change in VP is going to hurt more than help. It changes the news in a NEGATIVE way.
@feloneouscat I get what you're saying here, I'm reaching in that it'll hurt him with independents voters because I've never believed through this entire election cycle he had collected much of that sector of voters to begin with
I still don't believe he's even obtained a net positive of Republican voters! But of the diehards that worship him, won't make a difference what he says or does.
You are correct that any change will do more harm than good, I'm just saying the party iself doesn't care.
@SentinelOfTruth
Likely he is and has argued over why does he need a running mate anyway.
