TBF, in theory the RNC could dump Trump without justification.

Dumping Vance is a risk this late in the game.
• It makes Trump look indecisive
• It gives Harris MORE ammo not less
• Trump will have to pick ANOTHER running mate
The last is most important. If Vance went through a vetting process, it’s a shitty process. Another candidate could be just as lousy.
@feloneouscat There's one tiny problem with this line of logic though: his voters do not generally use logic in their votes or decisions.
They'll tell them a bunch of nonsense and they'll just bob their heads and accept whatever they are told. The only people this MAY hurt him with, is with independents and even then I'm stretching for a reason.

That’s not the issue.
No party can win with the hardcore. Not Democrats nor Republicans.
They depend on the Independents to tiebreak.
They are the ones that actually win elections. And they are a little more circumspect than you give credit.
Trump is a risk. People were hurt under Trump. The economy did not expand and his alt-history isn’t helping.
His change in VP is going to hurt more than help. It changes the news in a NEGATIVE way.
@feloneouscat I get what you're saying here, I'm reaching in that it'll hurt him with independents voters because I've never believed through this entire election cycle he had collected much of that sector of voters to begin with
I still don't believe he's even obtained a net positive of Republican voters! But of the diehards that worship him, won't make a difference what he says or does.
You are correct that any change will do more harm than good, I'm just saying the party iself doesn't care.
