Smell really depends on the makeup of the filament. Most PLA and PETG filaments are relatively odorless, but ABS filament can make gross fumes which require ventilation.
@john_b @TrueBloodNet THere's also a Nylon Glass, something like that, you can print with but also requires ventilation. Kydex, I think its called.
I have a few friends that are deeply into 3d printing and they've spoken of it.
@NiveusLepus What does it cost to print things? I mean, I know it's size dependent but for most things you print?
@TrueBloodNet Pennies on the dollar to my understanding. One of my partners is a big 3d print fan, and a friend of mine in Seattle is building her own animatronics. A roll of filament runs between 12 and 40 bucks and it lasts a good while.
@TrueBloodNet She's got three printers in her workshop upstairs... It's a heck of an operation.
