Copied some letters yesterday between Gen. George Marshall and Mrs. Wainwright while Gen. Wainwright was a POW during WWII.
Makes Bataan real.
@MelissaHDavis My Dad was in the second wave at Iwo Jima he talked a lot about Bataan and the death March. A lot of anger about Bataan.

My Dad was in D-Day and the Battle of the Bulge.
On V-E Day, he was told to board a ship to invade Japan.
There was anger.

Similar history. My dad is somewhere in this video. They didn't know if they were invading or occupying up until they debarked.

I am still collecting WWII collections at the George C. Marshall Foundation -- the individual collections are so very interesting.
@MelissaHDavis Sadly we're at a time when WWII vets are mostly gone. The silver lining is their families find documents like that video and put them online. For a long time I found nothing about the 98th. The past 10 years or so the picture is filling in.
