Refurbishing old photo frames occasionally uncovers some surprises.
One hundred nine years ago, the person who framed this photo used this discarded image of some other couple as the backboard.
I wonder who they were.

Fortunately, this is one of the rare crayon portraits that is varnished.
A little dry cleaning pad work removed most of the pencil marks.

@poemblaze Could have been. Or the place they ordered the frame from just used an image that was not paid for.
That may explain the crossed-out pencil marks on the faces.

Did you scribble over their faces, or did the person do that one hundred nine years ago?

If it was the person, I feel like there may be some tea there. 😳 Or maybe they were just random strangers...

@janallmac I did not scribble. They may have been hated family members or just a discarded image the frame company saved to use for their next oval frame.
