Strange but true: in the last 25 years, the Connecticut Huskies men’s basketball team has won more National Championships (5) than outright Big East regular season titles (2). And before today, UConn only had one in that stretch, and in order to re-visit it you’d need to go all the way back to the 20th century.

That 1998-99 Huskies squad, led by Richard Hamilton, Khalid El-Amin, and Hall of Fame head coach Jim Calhoun, hit the college basketball triple crown — winning the Big East regular season title, the Big East Conference Tournament, and the NCAA Championship in the span of a month and a half.
