I just went back to a project and found the spot where I'd stopped last time. It was a point where I needed to do a quick search to confirm a detail. Clearly I went looking for that detail last time on the wilds of the 'net AND NEVER RETURNED.

(And now I'm repeating history by stopping here to chuckle about it, but so it goes. 😉)

I swear, if writer brains weren't solidly contained, they'd burst forth and skitter off like a freshly hatched facehugger.

In the days before the internet, when something popped into my head that I wanted to look up, I would make notes on any handy surface. If I was writing, it was the margins of my page. At other times, that often meant my skin. I would have several colors of ink on my hands and forearms most of the time.

@MLClark I used to say I should record all my thoughts in my car out loud...they seem amazing while driving but I can not even recall the subject matter when I reach my destination
