Major media companies are all some level of evil empire nowadays. Those empires have grown smaller in number and much larger in size. Pick your posion.

You could always go OTA antenna and third party DVR for all your content if you don't want any of your money going their way.

Also Fox and Fox News are two very different things.
My only beef with Fox is their NFL broadcast team being highly annoying. Although they are strangely quiet right now.
