@SentinelOfTruth When you live in a bubble, you don't know what's outside that bubble.
@LiberalLibrarian This whole thing is getting to the range of obviousness that to say it's a bubble can't apply. They're either deliberately ignoring reality (but are aware of the details), or with actual brain damage and incapable of seeing the truth of the situation.
For what it's worth, I think it's the first with them.
they're looking at an appeal, because they already know what the verdict will be.
@holon42 @LiberalLibrarian This is clearly aimed at grounding an appeal (and propagandizing to Foxworld). But it's hard to imagine any appeals court saying "yes, only having 6+ months to prepare for a case - which you already knew was coming for months before that - means you couldn't even hope for a fair trial, case dismissed!"
yes, but they'll try it anyway because there's nothing else. another delay tactic.
@holon42 They're already trying it, plainly. But it won't delay the trial. Appeals will consume years, assuming he's convicted.
yes, it won't delay the trial. if he's kept in prison during appeals, that's fine.
@holon42 I'm sure he'd be bailed during appeals.
i object πas if.
@holon42 It's the way of the world.
Frankly, even if he's sentenced to prison (and he definitely could be, given the sheer number of cases), I can easily see him stringing out the appeals for the remainder of his lifespan.
yes, so can i. it's infuriating that people like him are allowed to continue their criminality.
@LiberalLibrarian Is it just me or is their spin strategies getting so much more obvious?
Like, the entire right wing apparatus is now running with the complaint that they can't form a competent defense with 7 months of work?
Do you really want the public at large to know you're that inept to mount a defense of a client?
And all right wing is parroting this right now. It's amazing to watch in motion.
