Why do our airways and food ways need to be combined ? I thought evolution shoulda solved this. Stupid breathing getting in the way of eating. 😡

Evolution only repurposes existing structures, and sadly vertabrates have done that since we first evolved. Fish were smart and only used the tube for eating and the gills only shared the mouth and had their own exhaust. But once the amphibians left the pond, they doomed us all.

Oh! So it's the lack of gills then that are the real problem. We should have kept gills. You know, for backup. 😁
