That much benadryl would put me out for a week π±
@Fiikus_goddess one teeny tiny little benadryl pill had me almost fall asleep while standing up. 6 of them and they could probably do surgery on me without me waking.
@Kurtroedeger Me, like many neurodivergents, perk up from benadryl. But I have heard it being used as a date rape drug too.
But the antihistamine effect lasts only 8 hours and it is a very problematic with the side-effects to many. 1. gen antihistamines aren't really considered as good medicine anymore.
Other than treating gastroparesis, which is why I take it some times.
But keep the carrot in mind for next root canal! π
@Fiikus_goddess @Kurtroedeger Yikes. I had not heard the date rape piece. I had heard correlation with serious issues of cognition and memory.
I think it is the drowsiness cpmbined with alcohol kind of dste rape drug reaction. It won't cause similar memory issues as some other drugs.

There was a University of Washington study published in JAMA a few years agothat found that "Taking an anticholinergic for the equivalent of three years or more was associated with a 54% higher dementia risk than taking the same dose for three months or less."

Benadryl actually makes my hyper. It runs in the family: at least one aunt and cousin have the same reaction! (It's called the paradoxical excitation/effect) π€
@Teej_Muk I have opposite effects for a lot of things. Benny's are complete snooze. I have to be careful what I'm doing when it kicks in.

I started a new OTC allergy pill a while ago and couldn't figure out why it took forever to get to sleep (when I took it at night as directed). Turns out it's related to Benadryl so I changed the dosing to the morning!
