Afghan women keep singing loud and proud. Despite the Taliban’s draconian laws forcing them to stay silent in public, they’re posting videos of themselves singing

Since the Taliban tried to silence us, we’ve raised our voices in defiance, singing for freedom and equality. We refuse to be erased.

Afghanistan’s women are holding small indoor protests in response to the Taliban’s vice and virtue law. They're making it clear that no government can shut them up, saying the Taliban are no different from ISIS and want to erase women from society

@Jezibaba

it's time to stand up to these bullies and take them down. sane people outnumber them, so it can be done.

@Jezibaba

I wonder if any of this is work being done by RAWA.

I helped with some fundraisers and support for them a couple of decades ago. They were doing remarkable work, running secret schools for girls, and
creating economic opportunities for women by selling their bread to the refugee camps (which were outside Taliban control)

They were also the main organizing force behind the women getting videos of stonings
